Muriel Smith, 1923-1985, Narrator on Strange Victory, 1948. Singer and actress, Smith was the first Black person to study at the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia, graduating with Leonard Bernstein and Isaac Stern. She performed in Marc Blitzstein’s No for an Answer, 1947, and later with the Negro Theater Company.
