Peggy Lawson, 1928-1971 film editor and collaborator with Leo Hurwitz on Essay on Death, 1964; Do You Know a Man Named Goya, 1966; The Art of Seeing Series, 1968-70; This Island, 1970. She is the titular subject of the film Dialogue with a Woman Departed, 1980. Born in Oklahoma and moved to California as a young girl, she came to New York to apprentice with Hurwitz in the early 1950’s. She was his life partner from 1964 until her death in 1971.
