Haiku

Jane Dudley, Leo Hurwitz’s first wife and a great modern dancer and choreographer (from whom he was separated at the time), was teaching a class in dance and choreography at Columbia University Teachers College. Manfred Kirchheimer, Leo’s long time collaborator, was teaching film at Columbia as well. Haiku became a project that beautifully documented a ballet, choreographed by Dudley for her students, using personnel from Kirchheimer’s class.
